I started my career as a mechanical engineer with an underpaid job. So I did the same thing that most mechanical engineers do, MBA! I started working as a banker, but deep down I knew that this isn\u2019t what I wanted to do. I was always in search of opportunities that suit my interests and needs. This is when I learned about Data science.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The field of Data Science amazed me, and I grew curious about it. As I learned more about it, I understood the future potential of data and Data Science as a career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"why-great-learning\"><strong>Why Great Learning?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>I decided to switch to this amazing field filled with a lot of opportunities in almost every sector. But \u201chow?\u201d that was the question. I started searching for Data Science and its related queries on Google and I started to see advertisements on every social media I was using. I was wondering to myself that destiny is calling me. But when I came to know it was all data science and algorithms behind it, I was truly amazed. I compared many institutions that teach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mygreatlearning.com\/blog\/what-is-data-science\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Data Science (opens in a new tab)\">Data Science<\/a> and chose Great learning, as it looked promising to me. 5 months of classroom teaching experience was great. All the faculties are highly qualified.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the course concepts were covered on time, with sufficient hands-on practice. We also had to complete a capstone project in the end. This gave us an actual understanding of industrial problems and conceptually challenging tasks to work on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-was-your-experience-with-the-placements-team\"><strong>How was your experience with the placements team?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>By the time I finished my course and was ready for placements, COVID-19 hit India. It was a frustrating and depressing period. But the career preparation team did a good job; they always motivated us and helped us to brush up our skills, so we were ready for interviews. I got selected in two companies, SBI General Insurance and ZS associate. I chose SBI.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I would like to thank Mr. Sayan Dey, Mr. Mukul Chauhan, Mr.Aniruddha Kalbande, Mr.Pushkar Shah, and all the other faculty for such excellent teaching.
