I am an IT professional working as Business Analyst\/Team Lead in the Insurance domain. I have 7 years 8 months of experience as a Business Analyst. My highest qualification is MBA in marketing and international post graduate diploma in General Insurance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was working as Business Analyst team Lead in Accenture before my husband and I relocated to Singapore, because of which I had to leave my job. It was during this time that I felt to upskill myself and learn Data Science as this is now a buzzworthy career and is the career for the future. I had time to think about how I want to shape my career while I was on a professional break, and I decided to get a certification in data science and machine learning. However, I didn't have much of a background in statistics or programming because of which I was in two minds about doing this course. However, after some research, I had decided to take a dive into this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great Learning was the most sought after ed-tech company for data science courses and some of my colleagues have done the course too. After talking to them and doing research on the institutes providing data science and machine learning courses, I concluded that GL provides the highest quality of education and finalised on applying for the program with Great Learning. I did have apprehensions about online program because firstly, I was a fresher into data science and did not know if I will be able to cope with the online mode of learning, secondly, looking at the curriculum I thought it would be very technical and I do not have programming background even though I am an IT professional. But, the video content and mentoring session is designed such that anyone can easily understand and learn Data Science.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mentoring sessions were the most essential part of the program. In many modules, there were some concepts which I could not understand, the mentor session after the video helped me clarify my doubts, and explanations were provided with much more details and in a simplified way to make it easier to understand. We got real time examples, lots of additional material and links related to topics in discussion that helped to improve our knowledge on various subjects. Without a mentoring session, it would have been a tough journey to course completion. Mentoring session contributed at least 60% to my learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mentor supported us throughout from the smallest to the most complex of the modules and had been very patient and prompt in their response to queries throughout the program. They have gone an extra mile to help us understand and simplify concepts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have upskilled myself and in almost all my interviews, I have been asked about the data science course and most of the interviewers have been highly impressed with the skill sets I have built with this course. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would like to wish all the new joiners to the course the very best of luck. You are in good hands and the program manager and mentors will take care of all your course related needs.
