SoapUI is abbreviated as Simple Object Access Protocol User Interface. It is an open-source and cross-platform application used for web service testing for Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and representational state transfers (REST). SoapUI Pro is a commercial version that was developed by Eviware Software AB, but it was later acquired by SmartBear Software later in 2011. SoapUI has notably been downloaded over a couple of million times since its initial release. SoapUI is built completely on the Java platform, and it makes use of Swing for the user interface.
