During my school days, I had immense love and curiosity in learning physics that made me pursue my Bachelors in Technology in the Mechanical domain. After graduation, I started my career in the training and education industry, where I used to train students and professionals on various designing software. By that time, I realized that the kind of spark I was looking for in my work culture and domain is missing, and that’s where the exploration began.
I decided to study Analytics and Data Science after 3 years of my graduation. With Mathematics and Economics being my cup of tea, coding was something that scared me a little, but I started with learning Python and then did some freelancing in the same.
Peers and colleagues suggested not to take such risks by trying to make a transition, but I took that as my biggest challenge, and I am glad that I decided to be part of Great Lakes Executive Learning. I won’t lie that it was easy or I wasn’t scared, but I was firm and determined. I started my journey of one year of learning with Great Learning with full dedication. On the other side, Great learning assured full dedication even when the learning mode was online.
The mentoring sessions were extremely good and helped in building strong and confident basics. The projects were designed in a manner that will force you to deep dive into the topics.
My mentor always cleared my doubts and queries, sometimes even on days when there was no scheduled mentor session. My Program Manager has always been there for help. She was even there for moral support when sometimes I used to panic about getting a job without having any prior experience in this background.
Hackathon and number of quizzes inculcated confidence in me in 8 months that I started appearing for interviews, with correct skill sets on my resume. I was getting many calls for interviews, and that helped me a lot in gaining confidence, and finally, I landed a job as Data Analyst before 2 months of completion of course. This was the result of the skills I acquired in Great Learning.
The course made me realize the importance of data in today’s world and helped in making me more confident in analyzing data, performing analysis, and building clear concepts of machine learning algorithms. Whatever I had learned even before joining Great Learning, I started utilizing those in practice. It was possible because classes and Industrial sessions conducted on a regular basis gave insights into the real industry working.
I feel that this is the best place to learn and make your dream of working in the Analytics Industry true. The only thing that exists is: It cannot be achieved without your willingness to learn.
