I have an engineering background in E&C, passed out in 2006, and finished my masters in DECS. Since then, I have been working as a telecom engineer in companies like Nokia, IDEA, and VI, with over 13 years of experience in BSS, OSS, and performance. I live in Hyderabad along with my wife, and we have a 4-year-old daughter.

Before joining the PG program in Data Science and Business Analytics, I provided TRAI data to top management by fetching reports from OSS servers and preparing them in the required format.

My work is to fetch data of the entire network’s daily customer calls and minutes of usage, VLRs report, RNA, traffic, and infra reports to top management. All these are interlinked to finance. My role involved analyzing reports and providing solutions to them, thus digitizing the manual work. It also involved overlap with data engineers, which inspired me toward the field of DSBA.

From youtube ads, I found many learning platforms, as well as GL also, on one of them, and I wanted a platform to learn the technology scientifically and a program that would help me stay grounded and organize my courses and study plans and learn organically. I visited the GL website, and I saw YouTube videos of GL which made me start exploring and instinctively made me realize that this medium is much better than anything else I had come across. Although I didn’t have many apprehensions about learning in an online medium, GL made my online learning seamless, and I didn’t have any issues.

The mentored learning sessions are great. It’s great to interact with mentors who are experts in organizations in the field of DSBA, and also, it’s a wonderful experience to learn from them who can also share their industry experiences.

The quality of mentoring sessions are well organized, and the best mentors are deployed to impart the course. I saw one online learning content, and comparing that with GL, Great Learning sessions really stand out in terms of quality and completeness.

Mentors were seasoned in their field and brought their rich backgrounds; they were hand-picked industry experts who showed great dedication and offered to be reached out for any queries. I enjoyed the faculty interaction during the sessions and peer learning, where there was excellent scope for knowledge sharing.

The program has helped me quickly start my learning journey, and I wish to apply these skills to my work and bring a significant impact on business.

This course will make our statistical foundation secure and will provide a great experience. Learn it in a structured way and try to implement it into a few projects, which will help you gain confidence before applying for jobs. If your fundamentals are strong with some hands-on project & relevant experience, that will help you crack interviews. Consistent self-paced learning is required by practicing more problems to a greater extent apart from academics. I remain indebted to all my virtual mentors, back-end team, program managers, and supporting staff at GL to make my journey smooth.
