The video lectures are really good – Vibhav Kharangate, PGP AIML

pgp aiml story

I am an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Graduate from Goa with a total experience of 7 years. Currently, I am a product manager at an EdTech startup.

Before I joined this PGP AIML program, I had just joined an EdTech company in Bangalore as a product manager.

I had a lot of interest in the data science field. I also had a considerable amount of knowledge in that field. However, to even get interview calls for data science roles was a challenge as there was no development or academic background in DS. With this program, I was able to dive deeper into the concepts of ML and AI and make my base stronger. In addition, the certification from UT Austin just adds on to validate your skills.

I had never done such long format online certifications before. I was confused between GL and another upskilling startup. However, what drove me to choose GL was their certification from UT Austin, and also, I spoke to 2 of my college friends who had already undergone this same course earlier with GL. After listening to their advice, I decided to join this program, and I have 0 regrets.

The video lectures are so good that you don’t need anyone to teach you those concepts again. However, mentor sessions add to that experience through proper case studies and the mentor’s own industry experience. In addition, it is a great way to revise your topics and also to reach out regarding any doubts.

The quality of mentored learning sessions is really good. The mentor we had was always ready to guide us both in-class and out of class. Whatever doubts we put forward, he would patiently explain them to us.

I am much more confident in appearing for DS-related roles. I have implemented a small ethnicity detection model at my current job that greatly helped the organization.

This is a great field with a lot of opportunities, and this is the right time to enter this field. Make sure your learning doesn’t focus only on the tools and libraries but more on the concepts and mathematics behind those models.
