I have 6.5 years of experience in the IT sector and currently working as a Senior Software engineer at Accenture. I Majorly worked in C#, AWS Services, Azure DevOps, and NodeJS. I joined Accenture in 2015, and till now, I have been there. I worked on different skill sets like C#, NodeJS, AWS Services, Azure DevOps, and AngularJS. As I work with multiple applications, I wanted to create an Automation tool in 2018, and at that time, I started looking for AI and ML. I created the tool with C#, but I got interested in AIML. I worked on different tasks. I had some knowledge, but for some concepts, I had to learn everything from scratch. These things gave me the confidence to start a new domain from scratch and learn new things.
The challenge before joining the PGP-AIML Course was that there was a requirement to create a new tool that would help multiple other applications. I had an issue creating this with only C#. At that time, I started looking into AI and ML, but after I went through a few articles about this, I came to know the tool which I am creating. These things can be done easily through AI/ML, and that tool took 8 months to complete.
Since I started learning online with some YouTube videos and articles, but with the work 9 to 7 daily, I was not able to continue this process every day, and of course, there was no pressure at all that I had to complete the learning by any deadline, so I was not able to concentrate more on that. Then I heard about the Great Learning courses from my colleagues who have either done the course or are pursuing it. I tried finding out all the insights of Great Learning and all I heard back is you can invest your time and money here, as you are going to get a total return with interest.
Since I didn’t have any pre-knowledge of Python, ML models, or AI models, Great Learning provided some Pre Course materials which were shared before the course started so that we would have the basic prior knowledge of the courses. Great Learning self-study modules were explained thoroughly, which covered all the basic details as well as mid-high level contains about the topics. Which we had to go through in a week, and on the weekend, we had the Mentored sessions where the topics were covered again, and whatever doubt we had in a week by self-paced module were cleared by him. This went for a full course that is for 1 year. Even if we had any queries on weekdays, there was a WhatsApp group where we could ask our doubts, and within a short time, we were getting our doubts cleared. In case mentors were busy, then Great learning provided the Adhoc classes also in between the weekdays to clear the doubts of different mentors. There is no Institute that can give 100% knowledge, but Great Learning provided a great lot of knowledge which was very helpful.Â
Mentoring sessions were very good, the mentors were very professional and skillful, and their explanation technique was very professional and clear. They explain all the topics from the very basics. Even without any prior knowledge, you can understand all the things. We had a different set of mentors for each topic, and all were very skillful and professional. They were very polite, and even if you asked the same thing more than 1 time, they patiently explained each time. There was flexibility as well, in case you are not finding your mentor to explain in the way you like. Great learning is considering this and talking to mentors or even changing the mentors if the batch feels like that. It was a great experience with all the mentors. My mentors were very knowledgeable and professional, and the best part was they were reachable whenever you had any doubts. I learned all the things from basic to high level from the mentors. They supported in all possible manners. I learned all the things from them.
After learning these skills, I am completely changing my domain to AI ML for my future professional journey. This should be very tough without Great Learning as they provided a structured course and planned it very beautifully. Now I am looking for a job change with my new skill set.
