Can you tell us about your work experience?
For the past 3 years, I have worked at the Automation Testing vertical at Cognizant. During my time there, I always wanted to change my domain of expertise. Finding the right one was not easy. A couple of months ago, my colleague directed me towards online courses and MOOCs to gain knowledge about the basic foundation required to change my domain.
Why did you take up the Cybersecurity program with Great Learning?
During my search for online courses, I got to know about the Cybersecurity program at Great Lakes in association with Stanford University. After going through the brochure, I was impressed with the topics being covered in the program. As someone who doesn’t have any knowledge about cybersecurity, I needed to find a course that would teach me all the required basics. The course structure being taught here seemed very beneficial. I immediately called Great Learning and inquired about the program, soon after attending the screening call I was shortlisted and thus began my journey.
What did you like the most about the program and curriculum?
The course content was really good. Topics covered by Professor Dan Boneh were extraordinary and gave me so much knowledge. On every alternate weekend, classes were conducted by industry experts. They explained all the course topics with the help of real-world examples. After each module was completed, quiz and final exams were conducted. This helped us gain additional knowledge regarding the course.
Can you tell us about the project and how it helped you?
Throughout the course, we came up with three projects. Each project ensured that we gained knowledge and better understood how to implement the topics that we were studying. It urged us to explore the domain in-depth and gain practical exposure as well. These projects were handled by industry experts who helped clear doubts on time.
Do you have any advice for the aspirants who want to take up this program?
I would like to convey my gratitude to Gauthami and Alok for helping me throughout the course completion. They were very helpful and were always there when I needed them to help me. I appreciate it.
