About Speakers

Prof. Barak D. Richman

Professor of Business Administration and Law

Academic Program Director Barak Richman is a health sector management faculty at Duke's Fuqua School of Business and Senior Fellow at the Kenan Institute for Ethics. He is also the Alexander Hamilton Professor of Business Law and Co-Director of the Health Law & Policy Program at George Washington University School of Law. Additionally, he serves as a faculty instructor with Duke Executive Education, and was formerly the Katharine T. Bartlett Distinguished Professor of Law at Duke University School of Law.

Dr. Richard Freishtat

Associate Dean for Executive Education, Duke Fuqua School of Business

Dr. Richard Freishtat leads all aspects of the Executive Education portfolio including strategy, business development, finance, curriculum, and program delivery focused on making a positive impact through the cutting-edge work of faculty. He has been a faculty member in Executive Education designing and delivering communications and leadership programs since 2013 to thousands of executives across the globe from start-ups to Fortune 50 companies.

Dr. Cary Ward

Associate Dean for Faculty Development

Dr. Cary Ward serves as the faculty lead for current and future School of Medicine faculty development programs. She partners with leaders in the Offices of Culture, Impact, and Engagement; Research Mentoring; APT; Professionalism; and others to maintain and grow a robust portfolio of programs that meet evolving faculty needs. She also oversees the selection process for numerous School of Medicine faculty awards and the annual awards celebration to recognize and highlight the outstanding accomplishments of our faculty.
