Semester 1

In the 1st semester of this MCA Online Degree Program, learners will get familiarized with some essential concepts about mathematics, operating systems and Unix Shell programming, computer networks, data structures, and Computer Organization and Architecture (COA).

Mathematical Foundation for Computer Application

    Here, learners are familiarized with all the essential concepts of mathematical foundations for computer applications, such as mathematical logic, relations, predicates, algebra, and much more.

Operating System & Unix Shell Programming

    An Operating System (OS) is a computer system software that manages computer hardware, software resources, memory and processes, and provides standard services for computer programs. Unix is an OS, and a program called shell process is run for you when you log in to a Unix system. A shell process is just a command interpreter that provides you with an interface to the OS. A shell script is nothing but a file of commands, usually executed by a shell process that was generated to run the script.

Data Communication & Computer Networks

    Data communications refer to the exchange of digital data between two or more computers via any means of transmission media like wire cable. A computer network, also called a data network, is a telecommunications network that enables computers to exchange data amongst various other computer systems.

Data Structures with Algorithms

    Data Structures are some specific methods to organize and store data for efficient usage. An algorithm is a cluster of finite and well-defined instructions, which can be used to solve problems or calculations or perform other particular tasks.

Computer Organization & Architecture

    Computer Organization is used to determine how a system is structured in order to use all those structured tools. What is the MCA Degree course duration?

All interested candidates are required to apply for the program through the online application form. The admissions committee will review and shortlist candidates. Shortlisted candidates are required to clear an admissions test followed by a program selection interview. Selected candidates will secure an admission offer letter.

What is the eligibility criterion for the MCA Degree Program?

Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum 3 years) from a recognized University with at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST) in aggregate. Final year students pursuing a bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply.
