Ramachandran Puranam
One thing that stands out about the course is the insights shared by the faculty that opened my eyes to the various applications and opportunities in the field of analytics.
A brief background about me
I am Ramachandran Puranam. I work as a data scientist with FSS since February, 2016 and here is how I transitioned into the world of Business Analytics with Great Lakes PGP-BABI program.
I moved to Analytics because
working in the mainframe domain, growth opportunities were limited and the work had started becoming monotonous. That’s when I moved to Big Data analytics role in 2012. Later after speaking with a few friends, I came to know there is a lot more happening in the world of analytics and that’s when I decided to do a course in Business Analytics.
I picked the PGP-BABI course after
I had done some research and decided to go ahead with Great Lakes because of the brand name and quality it is known for.
One thing that stands out about the course
is the insights shared by the faculty that opened my eyes to the various applications and opportunities in the field of analytics, and I strongly feel the overall learning and grooming I got there will help me for the next 20 years of my career. I would like to sincerely thank the faculty members, especially Dr. PKV. I am also in touch with all my batch mates; we keep ourselves updated with the various updates and developments in the industry.
I advise new players in the analytics sector
to keep an open mind and be ready to learn, thinking from different angles, as thinking out of the box is required to succeed in this domain. They should also try to learn at least one programming language used in analytics.
I love my job because
it’s a highly challenging role, the day to day tasks I work on always different, and there is never a dull moment at work.
