Add Links

We always require the user to redirect from one place to another simultaneously without doing much effort. This is the reason we add links to our wordpress blog/content. Wordpress makes it quite easy to add links to your pages and posts. Now, let’s follow the steps mentioned below to easily add your link:-

1)You can simply create a new page or edit your post/page.

2)Now highlight the text you want to add to the link. This selected text is called an anchor tag for the link. An anchor is used to create hyperlinks for the page. After selecting the text, you need to click on the link button.

3)You will now see a dialog box where you need to enter the URL where you want the link to redirect the user. You just need to copy and paste the link of the URL of the page or post where you want to link to.

4)After that, you simply need to click the apply button to insert the link in your post. And it’s done!

This is how we add links to the desired text. You can easily add links to any header, navigation menus, text widgets, and simply you can directly paste the link

where you want but this will look clumsy.

Above I’ve shown you how you can add a link to a page/post but some people are old wordpress editors, which is almost similar to block editor. The things/tools aren’t much organized in the old wordpress tutorial but you can easily find it in the

same way we added a link above. Let’s discuss in brief adding links on the different contexts of your post/page including navigation menus, title, widgets, buttons, etc.

Text Widgets

The text widget option of wordpress is always very helpful and it displays the organized content. Although some widgets are automated and don’t have enough options. However, if you want to easily add some custom links in your sidebars, then you can simply use the Text Widget of Wordpress. You can find this option in the Appearance - - Widgets page and now drag Text Widget into the widget area or sidebar. And don’t forget to click save changes after making changes to your widget.

Navigation Menus

It is obvious that everyone needs to link the site navigation menu. As we’re using WordPress, it is like a cup of cake for us. This is because WordPress has a built-in drag and drop menu editor that allows us to create new menus and manage the old navigation menus. As shown below, you can easily manage your navigation menu that is shown below menu structure. But if you haven’t created any navigation menus till

now or you want to create a new menu, then you just need to click on add menu as shown in left below:-

You can also create custom links using this. It isn’t necessary that you can only link it to a page or post on your site. You can also enter URLs of socials like Instagram, Linkedin, Twitter, etc. I hope you got the point. And don’t forget to save the menu at the end to save changes.

Buttons

If you want to add a new button to your pages/posts, you can easily create it using the WordPress in-built button block.

1)Click on the button.

2)Add text on the button as you like

3)Now, add a link to the button.

4) Click on save to save the changes.

That’s it! a new button is added to your post/page.

Edit Link

How can you edit the link you created? It is very easy and can be done in seconds. You just need to click on the text you want to edit, where you can easily change it by clicking on the edit button. In the same way, you can edit your links in every style like for headers, widgets, menus, etc.

Delete Links

You can easily delete a link from the text. Simply you need to select the text and then click on the unlink button shown above or press ctrl+shift+k. And that’s it.
